Kimberly Huelsman (Trustee)

Kimberly Huelsman has proudly called Mokena her home since 2006, where she resides with her husband and two children. A 1998 graduate of Lincoln-Way High School, Kimberly went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in History with an emphasis on education from Quincy University.

Her commitment to continuous learning is evident through her two advanced degrees: a Master of Arts in History from Chicago State University and a Master of Arts in Political and Justice Studies from Governors State University.

Kimberly has been an esteemed educator at Carl Sandburg High School since 2002. In recognition of her passion for teaching and deep understanding of constitutional principles, she was awarded the prestigious James Madison Fellowship in 2011, earning the title of Constitutional Scholar by the United States Congress.

In 2019, Kimberly expanded her impact on youth by earning a certification in Engaging Youth for Positive Change. She has also made significant contributions to the educational community through her involvement with several prominent organizations. She has served on the Teacher Advisory Council for the National Constitution Center, the Illinois State Museum Teacher Advisory Group, and as the David M. Rubenstein Master Teacher for the White House History Institute.

Beyond her professional achievements, Kimberly has been an active participant in the Mokena community. She held various leadership roles in the Arbury Hills Parent Organization, serving as

Fundraiser Coordinator, Treasurer, and Vice President until the school’s closing in 2024. Her dedication to her community also extends to her volunteer work as a teacher's aide for the St. Anthony Religious Education Program.

With her extensive background in education, leadership, and community involvement, Kimberly Huelsman is committed to making a difference in Mokena and ensuring a brighter future for all.
